World Challenge Video: MOTEC Dash Display

This weekend, while moving the R34 GT-R, the red car, I shot this video of the Motec dash.  The car was in the race rig, so it gets a little bit of a weird echo.  It had been a few years since it ran.  I love the throttle response, and exhaust note of an unmuffled inline six cylinder engine.

The engine is fairly stock inside. 580 whp the last time on the dyno. There are some tricks. Titanium exhaust from the turbo outlet tubes back. No mufflers or resonators anywhere. Read more about this World Challenge race car in: R34 Skyline GTR SCCA World Challenger Story

That is an ear buttering exhaust note! just love it, that throttle response is Very tight, full counter crank? how'd they get it so quick?

Its not a full counter crank. Its a stock crank. How is it so quick?

Some of the knowledge of those kind of things, I just don't disclose fully.

LOL!! honestly I'm shocked...

my next guess would be lightweight flywheel and maybe a carbon drive shaft! I don't know how else you'd achieve that kind of response on a normal crank... great work man, stunning car! ( I added this part to your build story at the end, just as like media)

The carbon driveshaft, which this car does actually have, does not play into just a static rev. The static rev is all about weight attached to the crankshaft.

The rods, pistons, and crank are stock, and stock weights.

This R34 was pretty light as far as R34's go. I got it down to as light as 2997 lbs dry. Lexan, carbon fiber, fiberglass, floating rotors front and rear. Even on the 18 x 11 - 305 tires all around.
